Description

•  Front/rear auto leveling sensor power supply

Detection Condition

•  Malfunction in power supply (5 V) to front/rear auto leveling sensors from auto leveling control module

Possible Cause

•  Open or short circuit to body ground between front/rear auto leveling sensors and auto leveling control module
•  Front auto leveling sensor malfunction
•  Rear auto leveling sensor malfunction
•  Auto leveling control module malfunction

MEASURE AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE VOLTAGE
•  Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
•  Measure the voltage at auto leveling control module terminal T and terminal R.
•  Is the voltage approx. 5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the auto leveling control module.

MEASURE POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE FOR FRONT/REAR AUTO LEVELING SENSORS
•  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the front/rear auto leveling sensor connectors.
•  Connect the negative battery cable.
•  Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
•  Measure the voltage at front auto leveling sensor terminal C and rear auto leveling sensor terminal T, rear auto leveling sensor connector terminal C and auto leveling control module terminal R.
•  Is the voltage approx. 5 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the front/rear auto leveling sensors and the auto leveling control module.
After replacement, perform the auto leveling system initial setting and re-perform the DTC inspection.
•  If the malfunction recurs, go to the next step.

INSPECT GROUND WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN FRONT/REAR AUTO LEVELING SENSORS AND AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE
•  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the auto leveling control module.
•  Inspect the wiring harnesses between front auto leveling sensor connector terminal A and auto leveling control module terminal L, rear auto leveling sensor connector terminal A and auto leveling control module terminal J for the following.
―  Open circuit
―  Short to body ground
•  Are the wiring harnesses normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between the front/rear auto leveling sensors and the auto leveling control module.
After replacement, perform the auto leveling system initial setting, and re-perform the DTC inspection.
•  If the malfunction recurs, go to the next step.

INSPECT FRONT/REAR AUTO LEVELING SENSORS
•  Remove the front/rear auto leveling sensors.
•  Inspect the front/rear auto leveling sensors.
•  Are the front/rear auto leveling sensors normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the front/rear auto leveling sensors.
After replacement, perform the auto leveling system initial setting, and re-perform the DTC inspection.
•  If the malfunction recurs, go to the next step.
5
PERFORM DTC INSPECTION
•  Install the front/rear auto leveling sensors.
•  Connect all the connectors.
•  Connect the negative battery cable.
•  Perform the auto leveling system initial setting.
•  Perform the headlight auto leveling system DTC inspection.
•  Is DTC 23 indicated?
Yes
Replace the auto leveling control module.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
