Invalid data received from BCM “A”

DETECTION CONDITION

•  Invalid data received from BCM “A”

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  BCM malfunction

•  Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:

―  BCM terminal 6T—Position memory control module terminal 1H

•  Position memory control module malfunction

DETECTION CONDITION	• Invalid data received from BCM “A”
POSSIBLE CAUSE	• BCM malfunction • Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals: ― BCM terminal 6T—Position memory control module terminal 1H • Position memory control module malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	INSPECT MIRROR POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR CONDITION • Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position. • Disconnect the negative battery cable. • Disconnect BCM connector. • Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection). • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to the next step.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT BCM • Inspect the BCM. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) INSPECTION.) • Is the position sensor normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Replace the BCM, then go to the next step. (See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3	INSPECT POSITON MEMORY CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR CONDITION • Disconnect position memory control module connector. • Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection). • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the connector or terminals, then go to the next step.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	INSPECT POSITION MEMORY CONTROL MODULE CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT • Position memory control module and BCM connectors are disconnected. • Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side): ― BCM terminal 6T—Position memory control module terminal 1H • Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Repair or replace the wiring harness for possible open circuit, then go to the next step.
5	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. • Reconnect the negative battery cable. • Clear the DTC using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [POSITION MEMORY CONTROL SYSTEM].) • Switch the ignition to ON. • Perform the DTC inspection using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [POSITION MEMORY CONTROL SYSTEM].) • Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Replace the front seat slide adjuster. (See FRONT SEAT SLIDE ADJUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
