•  Headlight leveling actuator (RH or LH) related circuit malfunction
•  Headlight leveling actuator (RH or LH) malfunction
―  Headlight auto leveling control module the malfunction
―  Headlight auto leveling control module power supply voltage is excessive high
•  Vehicle speed signal is above 180 km/h {112mph} or more
―  Instrument cluster the malfunction
―  Short to power supply circuit between instrument cluster terminal 1O and headlight auto leveling control module terminal A
•  Headlight auto leveling warning light control circuit the malfunction
―  Instrument cluster the malfunction
―  Short to GND between instrument cluster terminal 1A and headlight auto leveling control module terminal C

VERIFY THAT THE FRONT AND REAR AUTO LEVELING SENSOR INSTALLATION
•  Verify that the front and rear auto leveling sensor installation.
•  Is there any bend, damage or dislocated link at the bracket?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE
•  Turn the ignition switch to ON position.
•  Measure the voltage at auto leveling control module terminal AC.
•  Is the voltage B+?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace for open circuit between the ignition switch and auto leveling control module terminal AC.

INSPECT AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE GND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN
•  Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the auto leveling control module connector.
•  Verify that continuity at headlight auto leveling control module terminal V.
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Connector the headlight auto leveling control module connector, then go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT GND POINT
•  Verify that the GND point for auto leveling control module.
•  Is there loose or poor connection at GND point?
Yes
Retighten the GND point.
No
Repair or replace for open circuit at auto leveling control module terminal V.

INSPECT IF THE MALFUNCTION IS IN FRONT AUTO LEVELING SENSOR OR ELSEWHERE
•  Turn the ignition switch to ON position.
•  Turn the headlight to ON.
•  Measure the voltage at auto leveling control module terminal P.
•  Is the voltage 0.25—4.75 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 9.

INSPECT IF THE MALFUNCTION IS IN REAR AUTO LEVELING SENSOR OR ELSEWHERE
•  Turn the ignition switch to ON position.
•  Turn the headlight to ON.
•  Measure the voltage between auto leveling control module terminal N.
•  Is the voltage 0.25—4.75 V?
Yes
Go to Step 11.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT THE REAR HEADLIGHT AUTO LEVELING SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT
•  Inspect the wiring harness between headlight auto leveling control module terminal N and rear headlight auto leveling sensor terminal B.
•  Is there open or short circuit detected?
Yes
Repair or replace for open short circuit.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT REAR HEADLIGHT AUTO LEVELING SENSOR
•  Inspect the rear headlight auto leveling sensor.
•  Is the rear headlight auto leveling sensor normal?
Yes
Repair or replace for open circuit at following.
•  Between auto leveling control module terminal J and rear auto leveling sensor terminal A.
•  Between auto leveling control module terminal R and rear auto leveling sensor terminal C.
No
Replace the rear leveling sensor.

INSPECT IF THE MALFUNCTION IS IN REAR AUTO LEVELING SENSOR POWER OR GND CIRCUIT OR ELSEWHERE
•  Turn the ignition switch to ON position.
•  Turn the headlight to ON.
•  Measure the voltage at headlight auto leveling control module terminal N.
•  Is the voltage 0.25—4.75 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace for open circuit at following.
•  Between auto leveling control module terminal L and front auto leveling sensor terminal A.
•  Between auto leveling control module terminal J and rear auto leveling sensor terminal A.
•  Between auto leveling control module terminal T and front auto leveling sensor terminal C.
•  Between auto leveling control module terminal R and rear auto leveling sensor terminal C.

INSPECT FRONT AUTO LEVELING SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT
•  Inspect the wiring harness between auto leveling control module terminal P and front auto leveling sensor terminal B.
•  Is there open or short circuit detected?
Yes
Repair or replace for open or short circuit.
No
Inspect the front auto leveling sensor.

INSPECT IF THE MALFUNCTION IS IN AUTO LEVELING WARNING LIGHT CONTROL CIRCUIT OR ELSEWHERE
•  Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the headlight auto leveling control module and instrument cluster connectors.
•  Verify that continuity between auto leveling control module terminal C and GND.
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace for short to GND circuit.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT IF THE MALFUNCTION IS IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
•  Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
•  Connect the instrument cluster connector (with auto leveling control module connector disconnected).
•  Short to GND at auto leveling control module terminal C using the jumper wire.
•  Turn the ignition switch to ON position.
•  Dose the auto leveling warning light illuminate?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the instrument cluster.

INSPECT IF THE MALFUNCTION IS IN VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL CIRCUIT OR ELSEWHERE
•  Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the auto leveling control module connector.
•  Turn the ignition switch to ON position.
•  Measure the voltage at auto leveling control module terminal A.
•  Is the voltage B+?
Yes
Repair or replace for short to power supply.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION IS IN WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE AND HEADLIGHT LEVELING ACTUATOR
•  Inspect for open or short circuit in wiring harness.
RH:
―  Auto leveling control module terminal AB—headlight leveling actuator (RH) terminal F
―  Auto leveling control module terminal Z—headlight leveling actuator (RH) terminal E
―  Auto leveling control module terminal X—headlight leveling actuator (RH) terminal D
LH:
―  Auto leveling control module terminal AA—headlight leveling actuator (LH) terminal F
―  Auto leveling control module terminal Y—headlight leveling actuator (LH) terminal E
―  Auto leveling control module terminal W—headlight leveling actuator (LH) terminal D
•  Is there an open or short circuit?
Yes
Repair or replace for open or short circuit.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION IS IN HEADLIGHT LEVELING ACTUATOR OR AUTO LEVELING CONTROL MODULE
•  Replace the front combination lights on the left and right separately with a front combination light in which the actuator operates normally.
•  Does the auto leveling warning light illuminate after replacing the front combination light on the left or right side?
Yes
Replace the auto leveling control module.
No
Replace the suspected side front combination light.
