Does not auto close

DESCRIPTION
•  Liftgate does not operate auto close.
•  PLG buzzer does not sound when the PLG front switch, PLG rear switch and/or transmitter is operated.
•  Hazard warning light does not flash when the PLG front switch, PLG rear switch and/or keyless switch is operated.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  PLG control module does not receive auto close trigger signal
―  Malfunction in PLG front switch related part
•  PLG front switch malfunction
•  Open or short to POWER/ground circuit in wiring harness between PLG front switch and PLG control module
―  Malfunction in PLG rear switch related part
―  Malfunction in keyless entry system
•  PLG control module malfunction

When performing an asterisked (*) troubleshooting inspection, slightly shake the wiring harness and connectors while performing the inspection to discover whether poor contact points are the cause of any intermittent malfunctions. If there is a problem, verify that the connectors, terminals and wiring harnesses are connected correctly and undamaged.

INSPECT POWER DOOR LOCK SYSTEM
•  Inspect the power door lock system operation.
•  Does the power door lock operate properly?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace malfunctioning part.

INSPECT PLG FRONT SWITCH
•  Inspect the PLG front switch.
•  Is the PLG front switch normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the PLG front switch.

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN PLG FRONT SWITCH AND PLG CONTROL MODULE
•  Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the PLG front switch and PLG control module connectors.
•  Inspect for open or short to ground circuit between PLG front switch terminal A and PLG control module terminal 3R.
•  Inspect for open or short to POWER/ground circuit between PLG front switch terminal C and PLG control module terminal 3Q.
•  Is the open or short to POWER/ground circuit detected?
Yes
Repair or replace malfunctioning part.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT PLG REAR SWITCH
•  Inspect the PLG rear switch.
•  Is the PLG rear switch normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the PLG rear switch.

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN PLG REAR SWITCH AND PLG CONTROL MODULE
•  Turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the PLG rear switch and the PLG control module connectors.
•  Inspect for open or short to ground circuit between PLG rear switch terminal C and PLG control module terminal 3R.
•  Inspect for open or short to POWER/ground circuit between PLG rear switch terminal D and PLG control module terminal 2B.
•  Is the open or short to POWER/ground circuit detected?
Yes
Repair or replace malfunctioning part.
No
Replace the PLG control module.
