Liftgate turns over operation and PLG buzzer sounds 1 time, while auto open/close function

DESCRIPTION
•  Liftgate turns around while auto open or close operation without object is pinched, the switches (PLG front switch, PLG rear switch and/or transmitter) are operated and/or liftgate outer handle is operated.
•  PLG buzzer sounds 1 time when the liftgate turns around.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  PLG control module does not receive auto open/close start trigger signal temporary
―  Malfunction in PLG front switch related part
•  PLG front switch malfunction
•  Short to ground in wiring harness between PLG front switch and PLG control module
―  Malfunction in PLG rear switch related part
•  PLG rear switch malfunction
•  Short to ground in wiring harness between PLG rear switch and PLG control module
―  Malfunction in liftgate outer handle switch related part
•  Liftgate outer handle switch related part
•  Short to ground circuit in wiring harness between liftgate outer handle switch and PLG control module
―  Malfunction in keyless entry system
•  PLG control module malfunction

When performing an asterisked (*) troubleshooting inspection, slightly shake the wiring harness and connectors while performing the inspection to discover whether poor contact points are the cause of any intermittent malfunctions. If there is a problem, verify that the connectors, terminals and wiring harnesses are connected correctly and undamaged.

Diagnostic procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

1
INSPECT PLG FRONT SWITCH
•  Inspect the PLG front switch.
