DETECTION CONDITION
|
• P1001:00 indicates any of the following
• Unable to access Continuous Memory DTCs.
• Unable to activate KOEO or KOER Self-Test.
• M-MDS tester communication problem.
• DTC displayed by M-MDS tester not listed.
• KOER Self-Test cannot be completed.
|
POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• PCM connector or terminal malfunction
• Damaged DLC-2
• Open circuit in DLC-2 wiring harness circuit
• Short circuit in DLC-2 circuit or related modules
• Incorrect Self-Test procedure
• VREF is not within specification.
• Idle RPM out of specification
• Damaged PCM power relay circuit
• PCM malfunction

• Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.

No
|
Record FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Verify related Service Information availability.
• Is any related Service Information available?
|
Yes
|
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Information.
• If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY RELATED PENDING CODE OR STORED DTCs
• Turn the ignition switch off then to the ON position (Engine off).
• Verify related pending code or stored DTCs.
• Are other DTCs present?

Yes
|
Go to the appropriate DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [MZI-3.7].)

No
|
Go to the next step.

|
INSPECT DLC-2 FOR POOR CONNECTION
• Turn the ignition switch off.
• Inspect for poor connection at the DLC-2 (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).
• Are there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace suspected part, then go to Step 6.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
INSPECT FOR CORRECT PCM OPERATION
• Disconnect all the PCM connectors.
• Visually inspect for:
• Connect all the PCM connectors and verify that they seat correctly.
• Retrieve DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Is the PENDING CODE for this DTC present?

Yes
|
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P1001:00 HAS BEEN COMPLETED
• Verify that all disconnected connectors are reconnected.
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Engine off).
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Perform the KOER self-test.
• Is the PENDING CODE for this DTC present?

Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM.
Go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform the “AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE”.
• Are any DTCs present?

Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No
|
Troubleshooting completed.
