BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE [BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR 10-PIN TYPE]
id0922000274e2
Purpose
• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module detects a target vehicle in the blind-spot at the rear of the vehicle by emitting microwaves from the radar to control the blind spot monitoring (BSM) system.
Function
• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module controls the BSM system based on the following CAN signals:
CAN signal sending module
|
Signal name
|
PCM
|
Vehicle speed signal
|
TCM
|
ATX gear position/selector lever position signal
|
BCM
|
Steering angle signal
|
Turn switch signal
|
Instrument cluster
|
Dimmer cancel signal
|
Light switch position signal
|
Panel light signal
|
• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) transmits with the related unit using CAN. The BSM control modules (LH) and (RH) transmit via local CAN lines.
• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) transmits the CAN signal received from the related unit to the BSM control module (RH) and sends the CAN signal received from the BSM control module (RH) to the related unit.
Target vehicle detection function
-
• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module emits microwaves to the following area to detect an object in the blind-spot at the rear of the vehicle from the reflected microwaves.
-
• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module calculates the position, direction of vehicle travel, and relative speed of the detected object from the reflected microwaves, vehicle speed, and steering angle (estimated absolute angle) signal to detect an object which approaches the blind-spot at the rear of the vehicle as a target vehicle for monitoring.
Changing function brightness of blind spot monitoring (BSM) indicator light
-
• When the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module receives the panel light signal from the instrument cluster, it determines that the vehicle is being driven at night or in a dark place and decreases the brightness of the blind spot monitoring (BSM) indicator light. As a result, visibility of the blind spot monitoring (BSM) indicator light at night has been improved.
On-board diagnostic function
-
Construction
• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control modules are positioned on the left and right sides of the body inside the rear bumper.
• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module is integrated with the radar, which emits microwaves and receives the reflected waves, and the control module.
