• The SRS air bag system can be identified by whether or not the seat track position sensor is present.

• The driver-side air bag module is engaged by the pins of the driver-side air bag module and the snap springs of the steering wheel.
1. Switch the main power OFF.
2. Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
3. Insert the tool into the service hole as shown in the figure.

• When the driver-side air bag module is released, it may drop and be damaged. Hold the driver-side air bag module when releasing it.
4. Move the tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and push the snap spring in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the pin from the snap spring.
5. Pull out the stopper plate of the air bag module connector using a flathead screwdriver.
6. Disconnect the air bag module connector.
7. Disconnect the horn switch connector.
8. Remove the driver-side air bag module.
