VERIFY COMMUNICATION CONDITION BETWEEN APPROACHING VEHICLE AUDIBLE SYSTEM DEVICE AND M-MDS
•  Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
•  Is there communication between the approaching vehicle audible system and M-MDS?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

VERIFY MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM AGAIN
•  Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.
―  Windows open
―  Shift position: D position
―  Low vehicle speed
•  Is the approaching vehicle alert sound normal?
Yes
Complete the symptom troubleshooting. (Explain contents of repair to customer)
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY CONDITION AROUND APPROACHING VEHICLE AUDIBLE SYSTEM DEVICE
•  Visually verify the applicable part.
•  Are there any foreign matter is adhering to approaching vehicle audible system device?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.
―  Windows open
―  Shift position: D position
―  Low vehicle speed
•  Has the malfunction symptom been eliminated?
Yes
Complete the symptom troubleshooting. (Explain contents of repair to customer)
No
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction is not resolved, replace the approaching vehicle audible system device.
