Outline
• By operating the power outer mirror switch, the outer mirror glass can be adjusted up/down and left/right, and the power outer mirrors can be retracted/returned.
• The outer mirror glass can be adjusted up/down and left/right, and the power outer mirrors can be retracted/returned according to the vehicle conditions.
• The door electrical supply unit records the mirror surface positions of the outer mirror glass.
Function (Outer Mirror Glass)
Adjustment function
-
• The mirror surface position are adjusted by operating the up/down, left/right adjustment switch.
Reverse interlock tilt down function
-
• When the selector lever is shifted to the R position, the outer mirror glass tilts downward.
Reverse interlock return function
-
• When any of the following operations is performed, the outer mirror glass which was tilted downward by the reverse interlock tilt down, is returned to its original position.
-
― Selector lever is operated to position other than R
― Main power is switched OFF or to ACC
― Left/right selection switch is operated
Position memory system interlock function
-
• Programs/positions the mirror surface positions in conjunction with the driver’s front seat position programming/positioning. For details, refer to [POSITION MEMORY SYSTEM]. (See
POSITION MEMORY SYSTEM.)
IG OFF timer function
-
• The mirror surface position can be adjusted for approx. 40s after the main power is switched OFF.
Function (Power Outer Mirror)
Retract/return function
-
• The power outer mirrors are retracted/returned by operating the retract/return switch.
Automatic retract function
-
• When the driver's door is locked, the power outer mirrors retract automatically.
Automatic return function
-
• The power outer mirrors return automatically when the driver's door is unlocked or the main power is switched ON (READY off or on).
IG OFF timer function
-
• The power outer mirrors can be retracted/returned for approx. 40 s after the main power is switched OFF.
Auto-dimming function
-
• The driver’s outer mirror reduces the amount of light that the driver perceives as glare from behind in conjunction with the auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Personalization feature
-
• The automatic retract and automatic return function on/off setting can be changed. For details on personalization features, refer to [PERSONALIZATION FEATURES] in the workshop manual.

Operation (Outer Mirror Glass)
Outer mirror glass adjustment operation (Ex.: Left outer mirror glass is tilted upward)
-
• When any of the following conditions is met, the outer mirror glass tilts upward when the up/down, left/right adjustment switch is operated in the upward direction.
Operation conditions
-
― Main power is switched to ACC or ON (READY off or on)
― IG OFF timer is operating
1. When the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) detects that the up/down, left/right adjustment switch is on (1) in the upward direction, it operates (2) the power outer mirror up/down adjustment motor in the upward direction.
2. The outer mirror glass tilts upward according to the operation of the power outer mirror up/down adjustment motor.
3. When the outer mirror glass tilts upward, the resistance inside the up/down adjustment sensor decreases and the voltage input to the door-electrical supply unit increases.
4. The door-electrical supply unit recognizes that the outer mirror glass is tilted upward and the position by the change in the voltage.
Reverse interlock tilt down operation (Ex.: Left power outer mirror is selected)
-
• When all of the following conditions are met, the outer mirror glass tilts downward when the left/right selection switch is operated to the left and the selector lever is in the R position.
Operation conditions
-
― Main power is switched ON (READY off or on)
― Selector lever is not in R position
― Outer mirror glass is not operating or reverse interlock return is operating
― Position memory system is not operating (programming, positioning, or clearing)
1. When the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) detects (1) an R position signal, the power outer mirror up/down adjustment motor operates (2) downward.
2. The outer mirror glass tilts downward according to the operation of the power outer mirror up/down adjustment motor.
3. When the outer mirror glass tilts downward, the resistance inside the up/down adjustment sensor increases and the voltage input to the door-electrical supply unit decreases.
4. The door-electrical supply unit recognizes that the outer mirror glass is tilted downward and the position by the change in the voltage.
5. When the door-electrical supply unit recognizes that the outer mirror glass tilted to the target position, it stops the operation of the up/down adjustment motor.
Reverse interlock return operation (Ex.: Left power outer mirror is selected, selector lever is in position other than R)
-
• When all of the following conditions are met, the outer mirror glass returns to the position before the reverse interlock tilt down was operated when any of the start conditions is met.
Operation conditions
-
― Main power is switched ON (READY off or on)
― Selector lever is in R position
― Reverse interlock tilt down is operating or finished
― Right power outer mirror is selected using left/right selection switch
Operation conditions
-
― Selector lever is in position other than R
― Main power is switched OFF or to ACC
― Left/right selection switch is operated
1. When the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) detects (1) a signal other than the R position signal, the power outer mirror up/down adjustment motor operates (2) upward.
5. When the door-electrical supply unit recognizes that the outer mirror glass returned to the condition before the reverse interlock tilt down was operated, it stops the operation of the up/down adjustment motor.
IG OFF timer operation
-
• When the main power is switched OFF, the IG OFF timer function in the door-electrical supply unit is turned on and the up/down, left/right adjustment switch can be operated for approx. 40 s after IG OFF is detected.
Operation (Power Outer Mirror)
Power outer mirror retract/return operation (Ex.: Power outer mirrors are retracted)
-
• When any of the following conditions is met, the power outer mirrors retract when the retract/return switch (retract) is turned on.
Operation conditions
-
― Main power is switched to ACC or ON (READY off or on)
― IG OFF timer is operating
-
1. When the retract/return switch (retract) is turned on (1), the door-electrical supply unit detects a retract signal.
2. When the door-electrical supply unit detects the retract signal, the retract/return motor operates (2) in the retract direction and the power outer mirrors retract.
Power outer mirror automatic retract operation
-
• When all of the following conditions are met, the power outer mirrors retract automatically when the driver's door is locked.
Operation conditions
-
― Personalization feature setting for automatic retract/return function is [ON]
― Main power is switched OFF
-
1. When the door-electrical supply unit (driver’s side) detects (1) a lock signal, the retract/return motor operates (2) in the retract direction and the power outer mirrors retract.
Power outer mirror automatic return operation (Ex.: Driver’s door is unlocked)
-
• When all of the following conditions are met, the power outer mirrors return automatically when the driver's door is unlocked.
Operation conditions
-
― Personalization feature setting for automatic retract/return function is [ON]
― Main power is switched OFF
-
Note
-
• When the automatic retract/return personalization setting is [ON] and the main power is switched ON (READY off or on), the power outer mirrors return automatically.
-
1. When the main power is switched OFF, the IG OFF timer function in the door-electrical supply unit is turned on and the retract/return switch can be operated for approx. 40 s after IG OFF is detected.
IG OFF timer operation
-
• When the main power is switched OFF, the IG OFF timer function in the door-electrical supply unit is turned on and the retract/return switch can be operated for approx. 40 s after IG OFF is detected.
