Caution
•  To prevent a failure in programming the immobilizer system-related parts, do not implement other functions of the M-MDS (including tab operation) when programming immobilizer system-related parts.
•  If any metallic or magnetic object is near the remote transmitter, communication between the remote transmitter and the vehicle may be obstructed, resulting in a failure to program the immobilizer system-related parts. Remove any metallic or magnetic objects, such as key holders, from the remote transmitter when programming immobilizer system-related parts.
•  If a remote transmitter is near the vehicle during immobilizer system-related parts programming, it may be programmed mistakenly. Keep the remote transmitter 1 m away from the vehicle unless indicated otherwise in the procedure. If the vehicle is equipped with the following devices, programming of the immobilizer system-related parts may not be normal. Do not bring any of the following devices or similar products inside the vehicle when programming immobilizer system-related parts.
―  M-MDS
―  Personal computer
―  Devices that can send and receive radio waves
•  Do not depress the brake pedal unless instructed to do so because the main power may be accidentally switched ON (READY on).
•  To prevent a failure in programming the immobilizer system-related parts, turn off (disable) the pacemaker radio wave interference prevention function and the power saving function of the remote transmitter when programming immobilizer system-related parts.
Note
•  When programming the immobilizer system-related parts, the incode must be searched.
•  Two or more remote transmitters must be programmed to switch the main power ON (READY on).
•  A maximum of six remote transmitters can be programmed to one vehicle.
•  Before beginning the procedure, verify that the customer has provided all of the remote transmitters for the vehicle.

1.  Shift the selector lever to the P position.

2.  Operate the parking brake.

3.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

4.  Switch the main power ON (READY off).

5.  Activate the M-MDS and perform the following procedure.

(1)  Press [Start] to start the vehicle identification.
(2)  Press the [Toolbox] tab.
(3)  Press the [Work Support] icon.
(4)  Press [SECURITY AND LOCKS].
(5)  Press [IMMOBILIZER].

6.  Select the following items according to the maintenance contents.

Note
•  Verify that the main power can be switched ON (READY on) for all programmed remote transmitters.

9.  Verify that the main power can be switched ON (READY on) while the power switch is not touched on the remote transmitter.

•  If the main power cannot be switched ON (READY on), verify the DTCs. (See DTC INSPECTION.)

10.  Verify that no DTC is displayed. (See DTC INSPECTION.)

11.  If servicing is performed after turning off (disabling) the pacemaker radio wave interference prevention function and the power saving function of the remote transmitter, turn on (enable) the functions.
