PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL)

Purpose
• The parking assist unit (optical) controls the rear mount camera based on the signals from the selector lever and electric power steering (EPS) control module.
Functions
• The parking assist unit (optical) supplies power to the rear mount camera when CAN goes into sleep mode, and when the main power is switched ON, it combines the predicted vehicle track with the image at the rear of the vehicle shot by the rear mount camera, and when the selector lever is shifted to the R position, an image switching request signal is sent to the connectivity master unit.

• If the power supply to the rear mount camera is interrupted, a video display cancel signal is sent to the connectivity master unit.
Image correction function

• The parking assist unit (optical) corrects the distortion of the images shot by the rear mount camera.
Parking sensor detection indication function
-
• The parking assist unit (optical) performs the parking sensor detection indication based on the signal received from the parking assist unit (ultrasonic).
Construction
• The parking assist unit (optical) is located under the front seat (LH).
