STEERING SHIFT SWITCH INSPECTION

Plus Switch

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the bolts.

3.  Pull out the plus switch from the steering wheel until the plus switch connector is visible.

4.  Disconnect the plus switch connector.

5.  Measure the continuity between plus switch part-side connector terminals A and B.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the plus switch. (See STEERING SHIFT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Measurement condition

Continuity
Plus switch is operated (plus switch pulled towards you)
Continuity
Plus switch is not operated (plus switch is not pulled towards you)
No continuity


Minus switch

1.  Disconnect the negative lead-acid battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE LEAD-ACID BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the bolts.

3.  Pull out the minus switch from the steering wheel until the minus switch connector is visible.

4.  Disconnect the minus switch connector.

5.  Measure the continuity between minus switch part-side connector terminals A and B.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the minus switch. (See STEERING SHIFT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
