• The PCM monitors the high voltage battery based on the signal from the BECM and also controls the efficient use of the high voltage battery.

Operation
• Based on the high voltage battery module temperature signal sent from the BECM via CAN communication, the PCM performs battery heater control using the battery heater in the high voltage battery, and the high voltage battery cooling control using the air conditioner system. (See

• The PCM monitors the electrical leakage in the high voltage circuit based on the insulation resistance value sent from the BECM via CAN communication. When the PCM detects a decrease in insulation resistance (leakage), it turns off the high voltage contactor and cuts off the high voltage circuit. Additionally, it turns on the EV system problem warning light in the instrument cluster through the body control module (BCM) to notify the occupants that the high voltage circuit is malfunctioning.
