Function/purpose

•  The READY indicator notifies the driver that the vehicle can be driven.


Structure/construction

•  The READY indicator is displayed on the multi-information display in the instrument cluster.

Operation

•  After the EV system starts, the PCM sends the EV system READY ON status to the body control module via CAN communication.
•  When the body control module (BCM) receives the signal, it sends a READY indicator display request signal to the instrument cluster via CAN communication.
•  The instrument cluster displays the READY indicator on the multi-information display in the instrument cluster based on the received signal.


EV System Problem Warning Light


Function/purpose

•  If a malfunction occurs in the high voltage system, the EV system problem warning light turns on to notify the driver of the EV system malfunction.


Structure/Construction

•  The EV system problem warning light is built into the instrument cluster.
•  When the EV system problem warning light turns on, a warning message is displayed on the multi-information display in the instrument cluster according to the malfunction level. Additionally, a warning sound is activated according to the malfunction level.

Operation

•  When the PCM detects an EV system-related malfunction, it sends the high voltage system malfunction information to the body control module (BCM) via CAN communication.
•  When the body control module (BCM) receives the signal, it sends an EV system problem warning light on request signal, a guidance display request signal according to the malfunction information, and a warning sound request signal to the instrument cluster via CAN communication.
•  The instrument cluster turns on the warning light, displays the guidance, and activates the warning sound according to these received signals.
•  The warning/guidance display/warning sound status when the EV system problem warning light is on is as follows.

•  The PCM sends the high voltage battery level to the body control module (BCM) via CAN communication. Additionally, the body control module (BCM) calculates the remaining distance to full discharge displayed in the instrument cluster.
•  The body control module (BCM) sends the remaining distance to full discharge calculation result and the remaining high voltage battery power warning light on/flash request signal, guidance display request signal, and warning sound request signal based on the high voltage battery level received from the PCM to the instrument cluster via CAN communication.
•  The instrument cluster turns on/flashes the warning light, displays the guidance, and activates the warning sound according to these received signals.
•  The warning/guidance display/warning sound status when the remaining high voltage battery power warning light is on is as follows.

Additionally, the body control module (BCM) sends a guidance display request signal and a warning sound request signal based on the calculation result of the remaining distance to full discharge to be displayed in the instrument cluster.
•  The instrument cluster performs guidance display and activates the warning sound according to these received signals.
