FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]

id0140f4801300

Note
•  The fuel pressure sensor cannot be removed as a single unit. When replacing the fuel pressure sensor, replace it together with the fuel distributor as a single unit.

Function Inspection

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Start the engine.

3.  Display the PCM PID [FUEL_PRES]. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G)].)

4.  Compare the voltage and fuel value indications for the PID [FUEL_PRES] with the standard in the table indicated below.

•  If they do not match the standard, perform the voltage inspection. (See Voltage Inspection.)
•  If they match the standard, the fuel pressure sensor is normal therefore the inspection is completed.

Standard

FUEL_PRES

V

MPa {kgf/cm2, psi}

Approx. 1.4
10 {102, 1450}

Voltage Inspection

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Start the engine.

3.  Verify that the fuel pressure sensor output voltage (PCM PID: FUEL_PRES) is within the specification. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION.) (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G)].)

•  If not within the specification, replace the fuel distributor. (See FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
•  If they match the standard, replace the PCM. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0].)
Standard
•  Idle: 0.89—0.95 V
•  Racing: Voltage value increases
