Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION IS CAUSED BY AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OR PARKING LOCK ACTUATOR STICKING •  Perform the following procedure. 1.  Stop the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake securely. 2.  Remove the parking lock actuator. (See PARKING LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [ET6A-EL, ET6AX-EL].) •  Can the manual shaft be rotated by hand and can the parking lock mechanism be operated? am3zzw00022394	Yes	Parking lock actuator sticking can be considered. Replace the parking lock actuator and perform the repair completion verification. (See PARKING LOCK ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [ET6A-EL, ET6AX-EL].)
		No	After replacing the automatic transaxle, perform the repair completion verification. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [ET6A-EL].) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [ET6AX-EL].)
