Detection condition
•  The parking lock actuator detects a internal circuit malfunction.
Fail-safe
Refer to the DTC table and fail-safe table according to the DTC. (See DTC TABLE [PARKING LOCK ACTUATOR].)
Possible cause
•  Parking lock actuator initialization procedure is not completed.
•  Parking lock actuator internal malfunction

PERFORM PARKING LOCK ACTUATOR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE
•  Perform the parking lock actuator initialization procedure.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the parking lock actuator.
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the parking lock actuator.
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the CAN (controller area network) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1 again.
•  If the malfunction is not resolved, replace the parking lock actuator, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2
VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs ARE DISPLAYED
•  Perform the DTC inspection.
•  Is a DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
