CRASH ZONE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM]

Warning
•  Handling the crash zone sensor improperly may cause the air bag to activate (deploy) unexpectedly, which may cause an injury. Read the SRS air bag system service warnings and cautions before handling the crash zone sensor. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM].) Note
•  The SRS air bag system can be identified by whether or not the seat track position sensor is present.
―  Standard deployment control system: Without seat track position sensor
―  Two-step deployment control system: With seat track position sensor

1.  Switch the ignition OFF.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

3.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Front over fender (See FRONT OVER FENDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Front bumper (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Front combination light (See FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the bolts.

5.  Remove the cover.

6.  While pressing in the shaded area A, move the connector in the direction of arrow (1).

7.  While pressing in the shaded area B, move the connector in the direction of arrow (2) to disconnect it.

8.  Remove the bolts.

9.  Remove the crash zone sensor.

10.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

11.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

12.  Verify that the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light turns on for approx. 6 s and turns off.

•  If the air bag/pre-tensioner warning light does not work properly, verify the DTCs. (See DTC INSPECTION.)

13.  Perform the 360°view monitor system aiming. (with 360°view monitor system) (See 360°VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM AIMING.)

14.  Perform the front radar sensor/front side radar sensor aiming. (With front side radar sensor) (See FRONT RADAR SENSOR/FRONT SIDE RADAR SENSOR AIMING.)

15.  Perform the front radar sensor aiming. (Without front side radar sensor) (See FRONT RADAR SENSOR AIMING.)
