•  Switch the ignition ON.

•  Are other warning lights in the instrument cluster illuminated?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Inspect the instrument cluster circuit power supply and body ground.

Go to Step 3.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR ACTIVE BONNET CONTROL MODULE

•  Perform the active bonnet control module DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
(See DTC INSPECTION [ACTIVE BONNET].)

•  Are DTCs displayed?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [ACTIVE BONNET].)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATION

•  Verify the warning light illumination using the instrument cluster input/output check mode.
(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER INPUT/OUTPUT CHECK MODE.)

•  Are other warning lights in the instrument cluster illuminated?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the instrument cluster.

(See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

Go to Step 5.

VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTCs

•  Using the M-MDS, verify DTCs for the instrument cluster.
(See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)

•  Is the DTC displayed?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

(See DTC TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTION DOES NOT RECUR AFTER REPAIRS

•  Switch the ignition to LOCK.

•  Switch the ignition ON.

•  Is the active bonnet warning light illuminated, and after approx. 6 s, turned off?

Yes

Verify that there are no DTCs in the memory. If there are no DTCs, the troubleshooting is completed.

No

Re-verify the malfunction symptom, then go back to Step 1.

3		No	Replace the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) Go to Step 5.
4	VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTCs • Using the M-MDS, verify DTCs for the instrument cluster. (See DTC INSPECTION [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].) • Is the DTC displayed?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [INSTRUMENT CLUSTER].)
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTION DOES NOT RECUR AFTER REPAIRS • Switch the ignition to LOCK. • Switch the ignition ON. • Is the active bonnet warning light illuminated, and after approx. 6 s, turned off?	Yes	Verify that there are no DTCs in the memory. If there are no DTCs, the troubleshooting is completed.
