The security light display is not normal.

DESCRIPTION
|
• The security light remains illuminated 2 min or more after the ignition switch is turned to the ON position
• The security light does not illuminate when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.
• The security light remains illuminated while the ignition switch is at the LOCK position.
• The security light does not flash or the flashing interval is abnormal while the ignition switch is at the LOCK position.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Keyless control module malfunction
• Instrument cluster malfunction
• Open or short circuit in the wiring harness between the instrument cluster and keyless control module

• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the instrument cluster connector (24-pin).
• Connect the negative battery cable.
• Does the security light illuminate?

Yes

Replace the instrument cluster.

No
|
Go to the next step.

• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Ground instrument cluster terminal 2F using a jumper wire.
• Connect the negative battery cable.
• Does the security light illuminate?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the instrument cluster.
|

• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
• Connect the keyless control module connector.
• Connect the negative battery cable.
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
• Does the security light illuminate?

Yes

Replace the keyless control module.

No
|
Repair the wiring harness.
