PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE CONFIGURATION (AS-BUILT DATA USE)
• Perform the SAS control module configuration using the M-MDS. (See SAS CONTROL MODULE CONFIGURATION (USING AS-BUILT DATA).)
• Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [SAS CONTROL MODULE (AIR BAG SYSTEM)].)
• Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [SAS CONTROL MODULE (AIR BAG SYSTEM)].)
• Is the same Pending DTC present?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.

No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.

|
INSPECT SEAT CUSHION
• Inspect the seat cushion.
• Is the seat cushion damp?
|
Yes
|
Seat cushion is dry.
Perform the DTC inspection again. If the same DTC is displayed, go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
INSPECT SEAT WARMER
• Inspect the seat warmer. (See SEAT WARMER UNIT INSPECTION.)
• Is the seat warmer normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the seat warmer. (See SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
• After replacement, perform occupant classification sensor calibration and reperform the DTC inspection. If the DTC is displayed, go the next step. (See OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR CALIBRATION.)

INSPECT PASSENGER-SIDE SEAT
• Switch the ignition to off.
• Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
• Remove the passenger-side seat and visually inspect for the following:
• Are any of the parts deformed or are any foreign objects stuck in the seat?

Yes
|
Replace the seat warmer. (See SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
• After replacement, perform occupant classification sensor calibration and reperform the DTC inspection. If the DTC is displayed, go the next step. (See OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR CALIBRATION.)

|
INSPECT FLOOR
• Visually inspect the installation parts of the front passenger-side seat for the following:
• Is the floor normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Repair floor deformation.
• After repair, perform occupant classification sensor calibration and reperform the DTC inspection. If the DTC is displayed even though the floor has been repaired, go the next step. (See OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR CALIBRATION.)

INSPECT OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR
• Replace the occupant classification sensor.
• Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
• Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
• After replacement, perform occupant classification sensor calibration. (See OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR CALIBRATION.)
• Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [SAS CONTROL MODULE (AIR BAG SYSTEM)])
• Is the same Pending DTC present?

Yes
|
Replace the occupant classification sensor. (See SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
• After replacement, perform occupant classification sensor calibration and reperform the DTC inspection. If the DTC is displayed even though the occupant classification sensor has been replaced, replace the SAS control module. (See SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
