TRUNK LID REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Warning

•  Always fully open the trunk lid and support the trunk lid before removing the stay damper. If the stay damper is removed without supporting the trunk lid, the trunk lid may fall and cause injury.

1.  Remove the trunk lid lock striker. (See TRUNK LID LOCK STRIKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Insert the remover tool into the position shown in the figure.

3.  Move the remover tool in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and pull the band.

4.  Remove the stay damper.

Caution

•  If a different type of metal such as iron contacts the aluminum panel (aluminum), it could corrode the aluminum. Use exclusive surface finished bolts for the aluminum panel installation.

5.  Remove the bolts.

6.  Remove the trunk lid.

7.  Remove the nuts.

8.  Remove the trunk lid hinge.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

10.  Adjust the trunk lid. (See TRUNK LID ADJUSTMENT.)
