1. Measure the clearance and height difference between the trunk lid and the vehicle body.

Standard clearance

a: 2.4—4.4 mm {0.10—0.17 in}
b: –1.0—1.0 mm {–0.039—0.039 in}

• If the measured value is not within the standard clearance, adjust the clearance using the following procedure.

3. Verify that the clearances and differences in height of the trunk lid and the vehicle body are within the standard clearance.
2. Measure the clearance and height difference between the trunk lid and the rear fender panel.

Standard clearance

a: 2.3—4.3 mm {0.10—0.16 in}
b: –1.0—1.0 mm {–0.039—0.039 in}

• If the measured value is not within the standard clearance, adjust the clearance using the following procedure.

5. Verify that the clearances and differences in height of the trunk lid and the rear fender panel are within the standard clearance.
6. Verify that the trunk lid opens/closes smoothly.
3. Measure the clearance between the trunk lid and the rear bumper.

a: 6.5—9.5 mm {0.26—0.37 in}

• If the measured value is not within the standard clearance, adjust the clearance using the following procedure.

3. Verify that the clearance between the trunk lid and the rear bumper is within the specification.
4. Spray or pour water on the trunk lid and surrounding area using a hose or a high pressure car wash machine, and verify that there is no water leakage.
Retractable Hardtop
1. Measure the clearance and height difference between the trunk lid and the rear roof.

a: 2.7—7.5 mm {0.11—0.29 in}
b: –2.3—2.3 mm {–0.090—0.090 in}

• If the measured value is not within the standard clearance, adjust the clearance using the following procedure.

3. Verify that the clearances and differences in height of the trunk lid and the vehicle body are within the standard clearance.
2. Measure the clearance and height difference between the trunk lid and the rear fender panel.

5. Verify that the clearances and differences in height of the trunk lid and the rear fender panel are within the standard clearance.
6. Verify that the trunk lid opens/closes smoothly.

b: 1.7—5.7 mm {0.07—0.22 in}

• If the measured value is not within the standard clearance, adjust the clearance using the following procedure.

3. Verify that the clearance between the trunk lid and the rear bumper is within the specification.
