Configuration data unmatched with instrument cluster

Detection condition
•  With the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), configuration data of the retractable hardtop control module and the instrument cluster are not matched.

Note
•  To correctly write the configuration data, sent from the instrument cluster to the retractable hardtop control module, to the retractable hardtop control module, 30 s or more need to have elapsed since the ignition was switched ON (engine off or on).
•  DTCs are stored in the instrument cluster.

―  Instrument cluster internal memory malfunction
•  Instrument cluster configuration error
•  Retractable hardtop control module malfunction

VERIFY OTHER RETRACTABLE HARDTOP CONTROL MODULE DTCs
•  Clear the DTC for the retractable hardtop control module using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Retrieve the retractable hardtop control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the DTCs U3000:44/U3000:45/U3000:49 displayed?
Yes
Replace the retractable hardtop control module, then go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTCs
•  Retrieve the instrument cluster DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

RESET INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONFIGURATION DATA
•  Using the M-MDS, perform the instrument cluster configuration (using As-Built data).
•  Clear the DTC for the retractable hardtop control module using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Retrieve the retractable hardtop control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Using the M-MDS, perform the instrument cluster configuration (using As-Built data) again, then go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 5.
4
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC for the retractable hardtop control module using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the retractable hardtop control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the retractable hardtop control module.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
5
VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
