SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Warning

Handling a seat equipped with a side air bag improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings/cautions in the Workshop Manual before handling a seat (side air bag integrated). (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS.)(See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

Caution

•  If the slider lever is operated after a seat is removed, the left/right slide positions will deviate and the slide adjuster unit could be damaged after the seat is installed. After removing a seat, do not operate the slider lever.

•  Verify that there are no malfunctions in the sliding mechanism after installing a seat.

•  When performing the procedure with the seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure with the seat on a clean cloth so as not to damage or soil the seat.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more.(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Seat (See SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Seat side cover (See SEAT SIDE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Buckle (See BUCKLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(4)  Seat back component (See SEAT BACK COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Insert a tape-wrapped precision flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

4.  Move the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the clip from the bracket.

5.  Remove the tilt dial.

6.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

7.  Press the tab in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach.

8.  Detach all of the tabs and remove the tilt dial bezel.

9.  Remove the fasteners.

10.  Move the hooks in the direction of the arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and remove them from the seat cushion frame.

11.  Remove the seat cushion component from the seat cushion frame.

12.  Remove the C-rings.

13.  Remove the seat cushion trim from the seat cushion pad.

14.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
