TOP LOCK MOTOR INSPECTION

1.  Using the retractable hardtop switch, keep the front roof half-open.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

3.  Remove the front roof link cover.(See FRONT ROOF LINK COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the front headliner.(See FRONT HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Remove the front top lock.(See TOP LOCK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  Apply battery positive voltage and connect the ground to top lock motor terminals A and B, and then inspect the roof motor operation.

•  If the top lock motor does not operate as indicated in the table, replace it. (See TOP LOCK MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
Caution
•  If the top lock motor temperature is high, the motor may not rotate due to the motor internal PTC function. Leave it untouched for about 3 min to cool it down, then reinspect.

7.  Connect the battery positive voltage to top lock limit switch terminal A and connect terminal E to ground.

8.  Operate the top lock motor and measure the voltage at terminal C.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the top lock motor. (See TOP LOCK MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
