CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Note
•  The CMU prior to replacement stores the vehicle specification information.
•  A new CMU does not store any vehicle specification information.
•  When the ignition is switched ON after the CMU is replaced, the CMU reads the vehicle specification information sent via CAN transmission from the instrument cluster using the automatic configuration function, and stores it.
•  The Bluetooth® pairing information recorded in the CMU cannot be written to a new CMU. Therefore, the Bluetooth® pairing information will be eliminated if the CMU is replaced. Before replacing the CMU, explain to the customer that the Bluetooth® pairing resetting is required.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Scuff plate (passenger's side) (See SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Front side trim (passenger's side) (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  A-pillar trim (passenger's side) (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  Center panel No.2 (See CENTER PANEL No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(6)  Meter hood (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(7)  Center display component (See CENTER DISPLAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the screws.

4.  Disconnect the connectors.

5.  Pull out the wiring harness clip.

6.  Remove the CMU.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

8.  When the CMU is replaced, perform the automatic configuration using the following procedure.

(1)  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
(2)  Select [Settings] on the center display.
(3)  Select [System] on the center display.
(4)  Select [Factory Reset] on the center display.
(5)  Select [YES] on the center display and implement the CMU initialization.
(6)  Verify that the CMU restarts and the menu screen is displayed.
(7)  Switch the ignition OFF.
(8)  Remove all of the remote transmitters from the vehicle, lock all doors, keep the remote transmitters 2 m or more from the vehicle, and wait for 5 min or more.
(9)  The CMU automatic configuration is completed.
(10)  Using the M-MDS, verify that DTC U2300:54 or U2300:55 is not displayed.
