HIGH-MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Removal

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the liftgate upper trim. (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove the bolt. (with DAB antenna amplifier)

4.  Remove the fastener. (with DAB antenna amplifier)

5.  Set the DAB antenna amplifier aside in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure. (with DAB antenna amplifier)

6.  Disconnect the connector.

7.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the gap between the clip and the high-mount brake light.

Caution

•  Carefully remove the clip because the housing may be damaged if an excessive force is applied while removing the clip from the high-mount brake light. If the housing is damaged, replace the high-mount brake light.

1.  While pressing part A of the clip using the flathead screwdriver, pull the clip in the direction of arrow (2) and remove the clip from the high-mount brake light.

2.  Remove all clips from the high-mount brake light and remove the high-mount brake light from the liftgate.

Installation

1.  Install the clips to the high-mount brake light.

2.  Install the high-mount brake light to the liftgate.

3.  Connect the connector.

4.  Install the fastener (with DAB antenna amplifier).

5.  Install the bolt (with DAB antenna amplifier).

6.  Install the liftgate upper trim. (See LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
