DTC

B1317

The SAS control module power supply voltage increases (16.1 V or more)

B1318

The SAS control module power supply voltage decreases (less than 9 V)

DETECTION CONDITION

Warning
• Detection conditions are for understanding the DTC outline before performing an inspection. Performing an inspection with only detection conditions may cause injury due to an operating error, or damage the system. When performing an inspection, always follow the inspection procedure.
• When the SAS control module power supply voltage is not within 9-16 V.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Open or short circuit in the wiring harness between the ignition switch and SAS control module
• SAS 10 A fuse malfunction
• Battery malfunction
• SAS control module malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

Step

Inspection

Action

1
INSPECT FUSE
• Remove the SAS 10 A fuse.
• Is the fuse normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the fuse.
2
INSPECT BATTERY
• Measure the battery positive voltage.
• Is the voltage 9 V-16 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Battery malfunction
Inspect the charge/discharge system.
3
INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN BATTERY AND FUSE BLOCK
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
• Measure the fuse block terminal AM voltage.
• Is the voltage 9 V-16 V?
Yes
Install the fuse, then go to the next step.
No
Repair the wiring harness between the fuse block and ignition switch.
4
INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN FUSE BLOCK AND SAS CONTROL MODULE
Warning
• Handling the air bag system components improperly can accidentally deploy the air bag modules and pre-tensioner seat belts, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings and cautions before handling the air bag system components.
(See SERVICE WARNINGS.)
(See SERVICE CAUTIONS.)
• Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
