id0111d4800300

Warning
•  Hot engines and engine oil can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until it and the engine oil have cooled.
•  Continuous exposure to USED engine oil has caused skin cancer in laboratory mice. Protect your skin by washing with soap and water immediately after working with engine oil.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the catalytic converter insulator. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo].)

3.  Remove the dipstick pipe. (See CYLINDER HEAD GASKET REPLACEMENT [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo].)

4.  Remove the oil pressure switch.

5.  Screw the commercially available oil pressure gauge into the oil pressure switch installation hole.

6.  Install the catalytic converter insulator. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo].)

7.  Install the dipstick pipe. (See CYLINDER HEAD GASKET REPLACEMENT [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo].)

8.  Connect the negative battery cable.

9.  Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.

10.  Run the engine at the specified speed, and note the gauge readings.

•  If not within the specification, inspect for the cause and repair or replace if necessary.
Note
•  The oil pressure can vary with oil viscosity and temperature.
Oil pressure (reference value) [oil temperature: 110°C {230°F}]
230—370 kPa {2.35—3.77 kgf/cm2, 33.4—53.6 psi} [2,000 rpm]

11.  Stop the engine and wait until it is cool.

12.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

13.  Remove the catalytic converter insulator. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo].)

14.  Remove the dipstick pipe. (See CYLINDER HEAD GASKET REPLACEMENT [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo].)

15.  Remove the oil pressure gauge.

16.  Install the oil pressure switch with a new washer.

Tightening torque
30 N·m {3.1 kgf·m, 22 ft·lbf}

17.  Install the catalytic converter insulator. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo].)

18.  Install the dipstick pipe. (See CYLINDER HEAD GASKET REPLACEMENT [MZ-CD 1.4 DI Turbo].)

19.  Connect the negative battery cable.

20.  Start the engine and confirm that there is no oil leakage.

•  If there is oil leakage, repair or replace the applicable part.
