DTC U3003:16

Battery positive voltage is low

Detection Condition
Instrument cluster power supply voltage less than 10 V
Possible Causes
•  Open circuit or short to ground in the wiring harness between the battery (+) terminal and instrument cluster terminal 2S or terminal 2U.
•  Open circuit or short to the power supply in the wiring harness between the instrument cluster and body ground
•  METER 10 A fuse malfunction
•  ROOM 15 A fuse malfunction
•  Battery malfunction
•  Instrument cluster malfunction

BATTERY INSPECTION
•  Refer to the battery inspection and inspect the battery.
•  Is the battery normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace or charge the battery.

FUSE INSPECTION
•  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Remove the METER 10 A fuse and ROOM 15 A fuse.
•  Is the fuse normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the METER 10 A fuse or ROOM 15 A fuse.

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN BATTERY (+) TERMINAL AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
•  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Install the METER 10 A fuse and ROOM 15 A fuse.
•  Remove the meter hood.
•  Remove the instrument cluster.
•  Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
•  Connect the negative battery cable.
•  Measure the voltage between instrument cluster terminals 2S and 2U.
•  Is the voltage between 9—15.9 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair the related wiring harness.

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND BODY GROUND
•  Inspect the wiring harness between instrument cluster connector terminal 2A and body ground.
―  Short to power supply
―  Open circuit
•  Is the wiring harness normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the wiring harness between the instrument cluster and body ground.

PERFORM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DTC INSPECTION
•  Connect the instrument cluster connector.
•  Connect the negative battery cable.
•  Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the instrument cluster DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is DTC U3003:16 displayed?
Yes
Replace the instrument cluster.
Go to the next step.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.

VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE RECORDED
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Inspect the instrument cluster DTCs.
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Perform the corresponding DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
