1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [ZJ, ZY].)
3. Remove the splash shield. (See DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT [ZJ, ZY].)
4. Position the A/C compressor out of the way. (See A/C COMPRESSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
6. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
8. Add the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [ZJ, ZY].)
9. Inspect the system for engine coolant leakage. (See ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INSPECTION [ZJ, ZY].)
1. Install the thermostat into the thermostat case with the jiggle pin at the top.
