THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the following parts for easier access.

• Air cleaner (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITHOUT WU-TWC]INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [WITH WU-TWC].)

• Air hose

3. Disconnect the TP sensor connector.

4. Remove the TP sensor installation screw.

5. Remove the TP sensor from the throttle body.

6. Verify that the throttle valve is fully closed.

7. Install the TP sensor to the throttle body.

8. Tighten the TP sensor installation screw.

1.6-2.4 N·m {17-24 kgf·cm, 15-21 in·lbf}

9. Verify that the throttle valve moves smoothly.

10. Connect the TP sensor connector.

11. Referring to the PCM inspection, verify that the TP sensor output voltage is within the specification when it is open or closed.

• If not within the specification, inspect the TP sensor.
