• Determine the malfunctioning part of the CAN system.
• Is the malfunctioning part wiring harness C or the instrument cluster?

Yes

Go to Step 4.

No
|
Go to the next step.

DETERMINING LOCATION OF A MALFUNCTION
• Is the malfunctioning part wiring harness B or the ABS HU/CM?
|
Yes
|
Go to Step 6.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

DETERMINING LOCATION OF A MALFUNCTION
• Is the malfunctioning part wiring harness A or the PCM?
|
Yes
|
Go to Step 8.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONNECTOR
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
• Is the instrument cluster connector connected correctly?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the wiring harness.
|

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN ABS HU/CM AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
• Disconnect the ABS HU/CM connector.
• Inspect the wiring harnesses between following terminals for the short to ground, short to power supply and open circuit:
-
- ABS HU/CM terminal D and instrument cluster terminal 2W*1
-
- ABS HU/CM terminal P and instrument cluster terminal 2X*1
-
- ABS HU/CM terminal L and instrument cluster terminal 2W*2
-
- ABS HU/CM terminal H and instrument cluster terminal 2X*2
*1: Australian specs (applied VIN (assumed): JM0 DY10Y100 100001-108401), General R.H.D. specs (without WU-TWC)
*2: Australian specs (applied VIN (assumed): JM0 DY10Y100 108402-, General R.H.D. specs (with WU-TWC)
• Is the wiring harness normal?

Yes
|
Replace the instrument cluster, then go to Step 10.
|
No
|
Replace the wiring harness.
|

INSPECT ABS HU/CM CONNECTOR
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the ABS HU/CM connector.
• Is the ABS HU/CM connector connected correctly?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the wiring harness.
|

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN ABS HU/CM AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
• Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
• Inspect the wiring harnesses between following terminals for the short to ground, short to power supply and open circuit:

- ABS HU/CM terminal D and instrument cluster terminal 2W*1
-
- ABS HU/CM terminal P and instrument cluster terminal 2X*1
-
- ABS HU/CM terminal L and instrument cluster terminal 2W*2
-
- ABS HU/CM terminal H and instrument cluster terminal 2X*2
*1: Australian specs (applied VIN (assumed): JM0 DY10Y100 100001-108401), General R.H.D. specs (without WU-TWC)
*2: Australian specs (applied VIN (assumed): JM0 DY10Y100 108402-, General R.H.D. specs (with WU-TWC)
• Is the wiring harness normal?

Yes
|
Replace the ABS HU/CM, then go to Step 10.
|
No
|
Replace the wiring harness.
|

INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the PCM connector.
• Is the PCM connector connected correctly?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the wiring harness.
|

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN PCM AND ABS HU/CM
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the ABS HU/CM connector.
• Inspect the wiring harnesses between following terminals for the short to ground, short to power supply and open circuit:

- PCM terminal 1S and ABS HU/CM terminal D*1
-
- PCM terminal 1W and ABS HU/CM terminal P*1
-
- PCM terminal 1S and ABS HU/CM terminal L*2
-
- PCM terminal 1W and ABS HU/CM terminal H*2
*1: Australian specs (applied VIN (assumed): JM0 DY10Y100 100001-108401), General R.H.D. specs (without WU-TWC)
*2: Australian specs (applied VIN (assumed): JM0 DY10Y100 108402-, General R.H.D. specs (with WU-TWC)
• Is the wiring harness normal?

Yes
|
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the wiring harness.
|

CHECK DTC INDICATE
• Connect the disconnected module connectors.
• Check the display of DTC U0073, U1900, and/or U2516, using the WDS or equivalent.
• Are any one or all of the following DTCs displayed?

- U0073
-
- U1900
-
- U2516

Yes
|
Repeat from Step 1.
|
No
|
The troubleshooting procedures have been completed.
