ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR INSPECTION [MZR 1.3, MZR 1.5]

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.3, MZR 1.5].)
2. Remove the battery. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.3, MZR 1.5].)
3. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZR 1.3, MZR 1.5].)
4. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
5. Remove the ECT sensor. (See ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.3, MZR 1.5].)
6. Place the ECT sensor in the water and while increasing water temperature, measure the resistance between ECT sensor terminals A and B.
