CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.3, MZR 1.5]

Caution
•  When replacing the CMP sensor, make sure there is no foreign material on it such as metal shavings. If it is installed with foreign material, the sensor output signal will malfunction resulting from fluctuation in magnetic flux and cause a deterioration in engine control.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.3, MZR 1.5].)

2.  Set the vacuum hose out of the way.

3.  Disconnect the CMP sensor connector.

4.  Remove the CMP sensor.

5.  Verify that the O-ring is not damaged.

•  If there is a damage, replace the CMP sensor.

6.  Apply a small amount of clean oil to the O-ring and the cylinder head cover.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
