FRONT DOOR KEY CYLINDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1.  To access the glass installation bolt, position the front door glass so that the distance from the top of the front door glass to the upper part of the front beltline molding is approx. 110 mm {4.33 in}.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Inner garnish (See INNER GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Front door trim (See FRONT DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Front door speaker (See FRONT DOOR SPEAKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Front door glass (See FRONT DOOR GLASS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  Front door module panel (See FRONT DOOR MODULE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the service hole cover.

5.  Remove the nut, then remove the rod protector. (Without double locking system) (See Rod Protector Installation Note (Without Double Locking System).)

6.  Remove the nuts and fastener, then remove the rod protector. (With double locking system)

7.  Remove the service hole cover.

8.  Remove the screw from the service hole.

Note
•  The screw cannot be removed because of the stopper.

9.  Lift the clip in the direction of the arrow (1), and pull out the key rod in the direction of the arrow (2).

10.  Press the tab on the front outer handle bracket in the direction of the arrow.

11.  Maintaining the condition in Step 9, remove the front key cylinder.

12.  Using a tape-wrapped fastener remover, press up the collar cap in the direction of the arrow shown in the arrow, press aside the front door key cylinder tabs (1), and remove the collar cover from the front door key cylinder.

13.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

4.  Remove the sealing sheet.

5.  Remove the nuts.

6.  Remove the fastener.

7.  Remove the rod protector.

8.  Remove the service hole cover.

9.  Remove the screw from the service hole.

•  The screw cannot be removed because of the stopper.

10.  Lift the clip in the direction of the arrow (1), and pull out the key rod in the direction of the arrow (2).

11.  Press the tab on the front outer handle bracket in the direction of the arrow.

12.  Maintaining the condition in Step 11, remove the front key cylinder.

13.  Using a tape-wrapped fastener remover, press up the collar cap in the direction of the arrow shown in the arrow, press aside the front door key cylinder tabs (1), and remove the collar cover from the front door key cylinder.

14.  Install in the reverse order of removal.


Rod Protector Installation Note (Without Double Locking System)

Caution
•  Before installing the nut, verify that the rod protector projection is inserted into the groove of the front door latch and lock actuator. If the rod protector is installed with the projection not secured to the specified position, the rod protector will interfere with the key rod and front door glass and could cause abnormal noise or damage to the part.

1.  Insert the rod protector projection into the groove of the front door latch and lock actuator and secure it.

2.  Insert the stud bolt of the outer handle into the rod protector hole and install the nut.
