Description
•  Displays a message related to a charging system malfunction on the center display.
•  Displays a message related to a charging system malfunction on the multi-information display.
•  Charging system warning light is turned on.
Possible cause
•  PCM malfunction
•  Battery malfunction
•  Integrated starter generator (ISG) malfunction
•  DC-DC converter (Mazda M Hybrid) malfunction
•  M Hybrid battery malfunction
•  Instrument cluster malfunction
•  Connectivity master unit (CMU) malfunction
•  BCM malfunction
•  Drive belt breakage
•  Decoupling ring tensioner malfunction
•  CKP sensor malfunction

VERIFY DTCs
•  Perform the DTC inspection.
•  Is a DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY DISPLAY WHERE MALFUNCTION IS INDICATED
•  Inspect the display where the malfunction is indicated.
―  Instrument cluster
―  Center display
(Refer to the diagnostic assist function in the separate Mazda Connect manual.)
•  Is the instrument cluster or center display normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the instrument cluster or center display.
Repair completion verification
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
•  Has the malfunction symptom been eliminated?
Yes
Complete the symptom troubleshooting.
(Explain contents of repair to customer.)
No
Refer to the CAN (controller area network) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, inspect the instrument cluster and center display.
