Detection condition
•  The adaptive LED headlights control module cannot receive the configuration data from the body control module (BCM).
Fail-safe
•  Control of the adaptive LED headlights system is continued.
•  Control of the headlight auto leveling system is continued.
Possible cause
Note
•  To correctly write the configuration data sent from the body control module (BCM) to the adaptive LED headlights control module, 30 s or more have to be elapsed since the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on).
•  DTCs are stored in the body control module (BCM).
―  Body control module (BCM) configuration not implemented
―  Body control module (BCM) internal memory malfunction
•  Body control module (BCM) configuration data error
•  Adaptive LED headlights control module malfunction

VERIFY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DTCs
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM).
•  Is a DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

RESET CONFIGURATION DATA FOR BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)
•  Using the M-MDS, perform the body control module (BCM) configuration.
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the adaptive LED headlights control module.
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Perform the body control module (BCM) configuration again and perform the repair completion verification.
No
Go to repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1
VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
•  Clear the DTC recorded in the memory.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the adaptive LED headlights control module.
•  Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes
Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the adaptive LED headlights control module, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2
VERIFY IF OTHER DTC IS DISPLAYED
•  Perform the DTC inspection.
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
