DETECTION CONDITION
|
• The immobilizer system operates and the PCM determines that engine start is not permitted. (Engine start is attempted with an unprogrammed key.)
• Instrument cluster detects a malfunction in the immobilizer system. (Keyless entry system)
• Keyless control module detects a malfunction in the immobilizer system. (Advanced keyless and push button start system)

• Has the FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Verify related service repair information availability.
• Is any related repair information available?

Yes
|
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
• If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

|
VERIFY IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM DTC
• Switch the ignition to ON (engine off).
• Verify the stored DTCs in instrument cluster.
• Are any DTCs present?

Yes
|
Go to the appropriate DTC inspection.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY IF ENGINE STARTS USING ANOTHER KEY
• Start the engine using another programmed key.
• Can the engine be started?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
(Someone may have attempted to start the engine using an unprogrammed key.)

No
|
Program the key with which the engine could not be started.
|

VERIFY THAT DTC P1260 TROUBLESHOOTING IS COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Run the vehicle under the FREEZE FRAME DATA stored condition.
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM.
Go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform the after repair procedure.
• Are any DTCs present?

Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
