Immobilizer system theft detected (vehicle immobilized)

DETECTION CONDITION

•  The immobilizer system operates and the PCM determines that engine start is not permitted. (Engine start is attempted with an unprogrammed key.)

•  Instrument cluster detects a malfunction in the immobilizer system. (Keyless entry system)

•  Keyless control module detects a malfunction in the immobilizer system. (Advanced keyless and push button start system)

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  Immobilizer system malfunction

•  Engine start using unprogrammed key

•  PCM malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED • Has the FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2	VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY • Verify related service repair information availability. • Is any related repair information available?	Yes	Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information. • If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM DTC • Switch the ignition to ON (engine off). • Verify the stored DTCs in instrument cluster. (See DTC INSPECTION [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM)].) (See DTC INSPECTION [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (ADVANCED KEYLESS ENTRY AND PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM)].) • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the appropriate DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM)].) (See DTC TABLE [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (ADVANCED KEYLESS ENTRY AND PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM)].)
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	VERIFY IF ENGINE STARTS USING ANOTHER KEY • Start the engine using another programmed key. • Can the engine be started?	Yes	Go to the next step. (Someone may have attempted to start the engine using an unprogrammed key.)
4		No	Program the key with which the engine could not be started. (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING [ADVANCED KEYLESS ENTRY AND PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM].) (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING [KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM].)
5	VERIFY THAT DTC P1260 TROUBLESHOOTING IS COMPLETED • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. • Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS. • Run the vehicle under the FREEZE FRAME DATA stored condition. • Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. • If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO4 emission level)].) Go to the next step.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE • Perform the after repair procedure. (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO4 emission level)].) • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO4 emission level)].)
6		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
