DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO4 emission level)]

id0140j5805700

Distinguish Method

•  Using a hand vacuum pump or pressure pump, apply 30 kPa {0.31 kgf/cm2, 4.4 psi} of pressure to the front pressure line. Does the differential pressure sensor on the M-MDS read 30 kPa {0.31 kgf/cm2, 4.4 psi}?
―  YES: Install a new catalytic converter. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6)].)
―  NO: Install a new diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor. (See DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO4 emission level)].)

Visual Inspection

1.  Remove the diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor. (See DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO4 emission level)].)

2.  Verify that there are no metal shavings on the sensor.

3.  Visually inspect the diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor for the following:

•  Damage
•  Cracks
•  Rusted sensor terminal
•  Bent sensor terminal
―  If there is any malfunction, replace the diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor.

4.  Install the diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor. (See DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZ-CD 1.6 (Y6) (EURO4 emission level)].)
