CAMSHAFT OIL CLEARANCE INSPECTION [WITHOUT DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER]

1. Position plastigage atop the journals in the axial direction.

2. Install the camshaft cap and rocker arm shaft. (See Rocker Arm and Rocker Arm Shaft Assembly Note)

3. Remove the camshaft cap and rocker arm shaft. (See Rocker Arm and Rocker Arm Shaft Disassembly Note)

4. Measure the oil clearance. Replace the cylinder head if necessary.

0.025-0.030 mm {0.0010-0.0011 in}

0.075 mm {0.0030 in}
