1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Discharge the refrigerant. (See REFRIGERANT CHARGING.)
3. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT LEVEL INSPECTION[ZJ, ZY, Z6].) (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT[LF, L3].) (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT[L3 Turbo].)
4. Remove the fresh air duct cover. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[ZJ, ZY, Z6].) (See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[LF, L3].)(See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[L3 Turbo].)
5. Remove the fresh air duct. (ZJ, ZY, Z6) (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[ZJ, ZY, Z6].)
6. Remove the air cleaner. (LF, L3, L3 Turbo) (See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[LF, L3].) (See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[L3 Turbo].)
7. Remove the splash shield.
8. Drain the ATF. (ATX) (ZJ, Z6) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT[FN4A-EL].)
9. Disconnect the cooler hose (HI) and cooler pipe. Do not allow remaining compressor oil in the refrigerant line to spill.
10. Disconnect the radiator hose from the radiator.
11. Disconnect the oil hose from the oil cooler. (ATX)
12. Remove the cooling fan. (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[ZJ, ZY, Z6].) (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[LF, L3].) (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[L3 Turbo].)
13. Remove the oil cooler. (ATX) (ZJ, Z6) (See OIL COOLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (ZY, Z6)[FN4A-EL].)
14. Remove the radiator with the condenser installed. (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[ZJ, ZY, Z6].) (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[LF, L3].) (See RADIATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[L3 Turbo].)
15. Release the radiator hook and pull the condenser up, being careful not to allow remaining compressor oil in the condenser to spill. (See Condenser Installation Note.)

16. Install in the reverse order of removal.
17. Inspect for engine coolant leakage. (See ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INSPECTION[ZJ, ZY, Z6].) (See ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INSPECTION[LF, L3].) (See ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE INSPECTION[L3 Turbo].)
18. Inspect the ATF level. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) INSPECTION[FN4A-EL].)
19. Perform the refrigerant system performance test. (See REFRIGERANT SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TEST.)
Condenser Installation Note
1. After replacing the condenser, add compressor oil to the refrigeration cycle.
