Battery back sounder circuit short to ground

DETECTION CONDITION
Short to GND in wiring harness between PJB and theft-deterrent siren
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Short to GND in wiring harness between PJB terminal J-05 R and theft-deterrent siren terminal B
•  Theft-deterrent siren malfunction
•  PJB malfunction

INSPECTION

ACTION

INSPECT THEFT-DETERRENT SIREN CONNECTOR
•  Disconnect the theft-deterrent siren connector.
•  Inspect the theft-deterrent siren connector terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT PJB CONNECTOR
•  Disconnect the PJB connector.
•  Inspect the PJB connector terminals for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT THEFT-DETERRENT SIREN SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GND
•  Inspect for continuity between PJB terminal J-05 R (wiring harness-side) and body GND.
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness for a possible short to GND, then go to the next step.
No
Replace the theft-deterrent siren, then go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC from the PJB memory using the M-MDS.
•  Turn the ignition switch to off then ON.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the PJB.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
