DETECTION CONDITION
|
• Correct data cannot be received from radar unit
|

|
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
|
• Illuminates the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) warning light and Smart Brake Support (SBS) indicator light (amber).
• Inhibits the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) and Smart Brake Support (SBS) controls.

• Radar unit malfunction

PERFORM RADAR UNIT DTC INSPECTION
• Switch the ignition to off.
• Using the M-MDS, perform the DTC inspection for the radar unit.
(See DTC INSPECTION [RADAR UNIT].)
• Are any DTCs detected?

Yes
|
Go to applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE [RADAR UNIT].)
|

No
|
Go to the next step.
|

VERIFY THAT THE SAME DTC IS NOT PRESENT
• Clear the DTCs from the memory.
• Are the same DTCs present?
|
Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
If the malfunction recurs, replace the radar unit, then go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCS ARE PRESENT
• Are any other DTCs output?
|
Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
|
|
No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
