VACUUM HOSE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

L.H.D.

1.  Remove the battery. (Except MZR 1.6) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

2.  Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose.

3.  Detach the vacuum hose from the clip.

4.  For MZR 1.6, perform the following procedure:

(1)  Detach the vacuum hose from the clip.

(2)  Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose from the intake manifold.

5.  For SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0 or SKYACTIV-G 2.5, perform the following procedure:

(1)  Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose.

6.  For SKYACTIV-D 1.5 or SKYACTIV-D 2.2, perform the following procedure:

(1)  Remove the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].) (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
(2)  Detach the vacuum hose from the clip.

(3)  Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose.

7.  Remove the vacuum hose.

8.  Install in the reverse order of removal.


R.H.D.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Windshield wiper arm and blade (See WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Cowl grille (See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Windshield wiper motor (See WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(4)  Keyless beeper (With advanced keyless entry system) (See KEYLESS BEEPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(5)  Cowl panel. (See COWL PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose.

4.  For MZR 1.6, perform the following procedure:

(1)  Detach the vacuum hose from the clip.

(2)  Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose from the intake manifold.

5.  For SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0 or SKYACTIV-G 2.5, perform the following procedure:

(1)  Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose.

6.  For SKYACTIV-D 1.5 or SKYACTIV-D 2.2, perform the following procedure:

(1)  Remove the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].) (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
(2)  Detach the vacuum hose from the clip.

(3)  Pinch open the clamp using pliers and disconnect the vacuum hose.

7.  Remove the vacuum hose.

8.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
