RECLINER MOTOR INSPECTION

Warning
•  Handling a front seat equipped with a side air bag improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings/cautions in the Workshop Manual before handling the front seat (side air bag integrated). (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS.) (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

2.  Move hook A in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and detach it from hook B.

3.  Unzip the zippers.

4.  Disconnect the recliner motor connector.

5.  Apply battery positive voltage and connect the ground to recliner motor terminals A and B, and then inspect the recliner motor operation.

•  If the recliner motor does not operate as indicated in the table, replace the front seat back component. (See FRONT SEAT BACK COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
