INDICATOR UNIT
id092200037400
Purpose
• The indicator unit notifies the user of the following conditions.
-
― Passenger seat belt status
― Rear seat belt status
― Passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) switch status (with passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) system)
― Seat warmer operation status (with seat warmer system)
Function
• The indicator unit turns the passenger and rear seat belt warning light on/off based on the request signal sent from the instrument cluster.
• The indicator unit turns the seat warmer switch (with seat warmer system) on/off based on the panel light signal sent from the instrument cluster. For details on the panel light, refer to PANEL LIGHT. (See
PANEL LIGHT.)
Seat warmer switch function (with seat warmer system)
-
• The indicator unit switches the temperature level (number of times indicator illuminated) in the order of 3, 2, 1, and OFF according to the seat warmer switch operation and sends the temperature level signal to the seat warmer unit.
• The indicator unit records the temperature level (number of times indicator illuminated) when the ignition is switched from ON (engine off or on) to OFF, and operates the recorded temperature level (number of indicator illumination) when the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on) again.
• If the battery power supply is disconnected, the temperature level recorded by the indicator unit is eliminated.
Construction
• The indicator unit is assembled to the climate control unit.
• The indicator unit consists of the following parts:
-
― Display which displays passenger and rear seat belt warning light, passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) lettering illumination, and PAD OFF/ON indicator light (with passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) system)
― Seat warmer switch (with seat warmer system)
Operation
Seat belt warning light
-
1. When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the indicator unit receives (1) the seat belt warning light illumination request signal from the instrument cluster.
2. The indicator unit turns the transistor on (2) based on the request signal from the instrument cluster.
3. When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with seat belt warning light is established, and the seat belt warning light turns on (3).
PAD indicator light (with passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) system)
-
1. When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the instrument cluster turns the PAD indicator light transistor on (1) based on the PAD indicator light illumination request signal from the SAS control module.
2. When the transistor in the instrument cluster turns on, the PAD indicator light in the indicator unit turns on (2).
Seat warmer switch (with seat warmer system)
-
• For details on the seat warmer switch operation, refer to SEAT WARMER SYSTEM. (See
SEAT WARMER SYSTEM.)
Fail-safe
• Function not equipped.
