DTC B1D00:13 [ADAPTIVE LED HEADLIGHTS CONTROL MODULE]

id1502c1001200

Description

Headlight (LH) circuit malfunction

Detection condition
•  The adaptive LED headlights control module detected an open circuit in the headlight (LH) circuit during the headlight LO on control for 5 s or more with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).
Fail-safe
•  When the setting is on using the personalization feature, the headlights HI turn on. (When setting is off using personalization feature, headlight HI illumination on/off depends on control by front body control module (FBCM))
•  Control of the headlight auto leveling system is continued.
Possible cause
•  DTCs are stored in the front body control module (FBCM).
―  Headlight LO (LH) circuit malfunction
•  Front combination light (LH) connector or terminal malfunction
•  Adaptive LED headlights control module connector or terminal malfunction
•  Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
―  Adaptive LED headlights control module terminal D—Front combination light (LH) terminal K
―  Adaptive LED headlights control module terminal F—Front combination light (LH) terminal J
•  Open circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals:
―  Adaptive LED headlights control module terminal D—Front combination light (LH) terminal K
―  Adaptive LED headlights control module terminal F—Front combination light (LH) terminal J
•  Front combination light (LH) malfunction
•  Adaptive LED headlights control module malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step

Inspection

Action

1
VERIFY FRONT BODY CONTROL MODULE (FBCM) DTCs
•  Retrieve the front body control module (FBCM) DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
2
INSPECT FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT (LH) CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Switch the ignition off.
•  Disconnect the front combination light (LH) connector.
•  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 7.
3
INSPECT ADAPTIVE LED HEADLIGHTS CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the adaptive LED headlights control module connector.
•  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 7.
4
INSPECT FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT (LH) CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
•  Verify that the front combination light (LH) and adaptive LED headlights control module connectors are disconnected.
•  Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness side) and body ground.
―  Front combination light (LH) terminal K
―  Front combination light (LH) terminal J
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:
•  Adaptive LED headlights control module terminal D—Front combination light (LH) terminal K
•  Adaptive LED headlights control module terminal F—Front combination light (LH) terminal J
If there is a common connector:
•  Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.
•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
If there is no common connector:
•  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.
Go to Step 7.
No
Go to the next step.
5
INSPECT FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT (LH) CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Verify that the front combination light (LH) and adaptive LED headlights control module connectors are disconnected.
•  Inspect the wiring harness between the following terminals (wiring harness side) for continuity.
―  Adaptive LED headlights control module terminal D—Front combination light (LH) terminal K
―  Adaptive LED headlights control module terminal F—Front combination light (LH) terminal J
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following terminals:
•  Adaptive LED headlights control module terminal D—Front combination light (LH) terminal K
•  Adaptive LED headlights control module terminal F—Front combination light (LH) terminal J
If there is a common connector:
•  Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.
•  Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
If there is no common connector:
•  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.
Go to the next step.
6
VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT (LH) DEPENDING ON REPEATABILITY
•  Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the adaptive LED headlights control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 5 s or more.
•  Retrieve the adaptive LED headlights control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Replace the front combination light (LH), then go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 8.
7
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the adaptive LED headlights control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 5 s or more.
•  Retrieve the adaptive LED headlights control module DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the adaptive LED headlights control module, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
8
VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
